Introduction
I've always liked strong women. Athletic, butt kicking ladies always do it for me, so it's no surprise that I really like
Power Girl. She's not exactly a classic DC character, but the smokin' hot outfit tends to make you forget little details
like that.
Kotobukiya has been hitting up the DC ladies with their Bishoujo style of statues, and have turned to the lovely blond in
white.
These statues are plastic, but a very, very high quality plastic. They run around $50 - $60, depending on the retailer, a
very good deal on the current market.

The boxes are attractive and collector friendly, but it gets extra love from me for the window. While many buyers will be
getting these online, those lucky enough to see them in person at their local shop first will appreciate being able to
see the statue before you pony up the cash.
This aren't limited editions and there's no Certificate of Authenticity.

Sculpting - ****
The key to a statue like this is the pose - is it sexy and tough, with just the right amount of attitude? Yes, yes it is.
I particularly like the leg stance, with the hips slung to one side. The flowing cape gives a bit of a dynamic feel to the
otherwise static pose, and she's showing off her guns to anyone that's interested. If female figures with huge chesticles
are not to your liking, then any version of Power Girl is not going to be your cup of tea. She's always been a well endowed
superhero, and the pin-up nature of the Bishoujo style is going to exaggerate that.
There's nice detail work, although the style is a bit more animated than realistic. The stranding in the hair is great, and
the wrinkles and seams on the costume flow appropriately with the position of the underlying muscles.
The statue stands about 8.5" tall, and the figure and base are one complete piece.

Paint - ****
The plastic they use has a bit of a translucent quality to it, making the skin tones very life-like and realistic. That's a
big plus, especially with a character like Power Girl, who has a lot of skin showing.
The white costume is very clean and consistent, with no gloppiness or color variation. The eyes are just about perfect, and
the cut lines between the boots, gloves and other areas look great.
I also love the gloss finish on the boots, gloves and white costume. It contrasts nicely with the matte skin and hair, and
softer appearance of the cape.

Articulation - Bupkis
This is an FYI only category, since you might think there's a joint or two - there's not. This is a solid statue, and in
fact, the figure is attached to the base right in the box, no assembly required.

Value - ***1/2
While most statues in this scale are pushing $70-$80 easy, these remain close to $50 at most retailers. The quality is top
notch, and well worth that kind of scratch.

Things to Watch Out For -
Not a thing.

Overall - ****
I've been pretty lucky lately - I've seen a lot of really nice collectibles in the last month. But there's something about
this statue - and no, it's not that - that really trips my trigger.
The price has no small effect on my Overall as well. Fifty bucks is a very good deal these days for a statue of this
quality, and it puts some of the other more expensive statues on the market right now to shame.
